The two central grooves of the NS-2, along with the V-shaped tread of the tyre, improve the drainage of water on the tyre surface and hence reduce the risk aquaplaning. When dry, the V-shaped tread ribs ensure a uniform pressure distribution so that the entire contact surface of the tyre can be used for power transmission. Computer simulated V-shaped drainage sub-grooves increase resistance to hydroplaning at high speed running through deep water.
